While last night’s party White Dreams might better have
been re-christened Wet Dreams, it was
testament to
Hilton Wolman’s good name
that all of
Miami
(and much of New York) came out in spite
of the unseasonal November tempest.
Karu&Y was a smorgasbord of the
Miami/New York social axis—and the
12,000 square foot lush retreat, Tottem
& Tottem Gardens, punctuated by
illuminated 11-foot totems, rainfall
fountains and bubbling brooks, dune
grasses and fan palms, made for a
splendid catwalk for the likes of
Chyna
Girl and
Alan T., Michael Gongora,
Warren Gluck,
Michael Stanley,
Ric Sena,
Ric Siclari, and a sea of the Magic
City’s more gorgeous denizens.
And while it was often a choice between a rain forest
outside and a sauna on the dance floor,
there was a point after which moisture
became irrelevant. First came
Manny and
then came Abel—a charge of the
vocal/tribal brigade. The boyz were
having it—all. And as Abel plated “Come
on, baby, light my fire,” the floor was
a roiling, boiling ocean of boxer
waistbands and ass cleavage, white pants
and white belts (but just not together),
and all matter of beach bling.
At times, the sheer array of tropical
beauty (and a couple jaw-dropping
examples of nubile purity—or as one song
had it: “sweet little kiss”) left little
choice but to gawk and grin at the
enchantments of
Miami, the Magic City. Or as someone put
it, “I had that one at
Black and Blue in
2004—and it was GOOD.”
Of course it’s always nice to have
MedEvent around—just in case. But last
night at White Wet Dreams, the boyz were
good. No one fell over the wooden
bridges—and the private cabanas were
oases of romance. White Dreams was, in
the end, the wet dream we all desire:
fantasy and release all in one beautiful
package.
